Interview post #2
As I stated in my previous interview post, my interview went very well with Dr. Daniel R. Berger II. He was very comfortable to talk to and I felt his perspective was essential in understanding the issue of food addiction. He cited studies that I can use to explain to severity of food addiction and the eating disorders that come from this obsessive mindset. I had my second interview with Dr. Mark Shaw. It did not go as well as I had planned. His responses were not well developed, but I still think I can use his comments. My interview with Dr. Susan Pierce Thompson had some scheduling problems because she was available at a day and time I would not be available. We rescheduled it for the 11th of December which worked much better for me. Her assistant reached out to me the day of the interview and said that Susan might be available later in the afternoon. Our interview was originally at 3:40 p.m., but she ended up calling me at 3:00 p.m., which caught me off guard for a minute, but I got everything together quickly and started the interview. Overall the interview went very well after that rough start. She was very responsive to all my questions and gave me some perspectives on the issue of food addiction or food issues that I had never had before. I changed up some of my questions because she answered many of them without me asking her. I also felt that some of my questions could be answered from her book. Overall the interview experience was nerve-racking in the beginning, but rather enjoyable in the end, because I got to talk to experts on an issue that is very close to my heart and passion. I definitely have a lot of improvement to make in the interview process, but I think I did well for my first few times of doing it.
