People Magazine did a special on weight loss. The theme of this magazine shows part of my goal for my magazine. I want to show the problem of food addiction but also show people who have successfully overcome its effects. The cover of this magazine has the classic people logo with white fill and a red outline. The front features two women who have become half of their former size and are displayed in a wide shot. They are wearing similar outfits that are different shades of blue with nude colored boots. There is a red outline around the white background to not distract from the two women. The two women are on either side of the title of the issue, "Half Their Size". Bellow this are small pictures of their before pictures and a sneak peak into what will be in the magazine. The font of the words on the cover is simple and capitalized. Page 6-39 contain success stories of people who have gotten to half their size through eating and use before and after pictures. Page 40-49 contain articles about people who have lost weight through exercise which show pictures of people exercising. Page 50- 55 are about exercise routines and ways to effectively get in the mindset of exercise and contains photos of fitness watches and people exercising.. Page 56-81contain recipes with pictures of the finished dish. The rest of the magazine contains tips on how to lose weight simply, stories of chefs who lost weight, healthy delivery options, and finally a dog weight loss story. They advertise Polar FT4 and FT& watches for fitness on page 55. They also advertise a diet book called Clean and Hungry on page 83. They advertise Blur apron, Splendid Spoon, Hello Fresh, Green chef, Green Blender, and Fresh Realm on page 93. All these ads appeal to their audience which are largely those seeking to lose weight and exercise. People magazine has 76 million consumers and has won the GLAAD Media award for the overall coverage of their magazine.
